Several Hundred Stupid Things… Edition 2

What is the craziest/stupidest/funniest thing that you have ever done? Whether it takes a while to remember something from a long time ago, or it comes without a second thought, everyone has stories to tell about their life. Particularly, the fantastic things that happen, even on the mundane days. I am still curious as to what people consider to be the strangest thing that they have ever done.

I just met a guy this past week who had his answer to that question almost immediately. A few years back, this young man and some friends decided to go down to Canyon City, Colorado, and explore. For those who do not know, Canyon City is home to a lot of tunnels since it is an old mining city from the 1850’s. Since the mining resources were depleted quite a while ago, all of the old mine shafts are abandoned. This guy and his friends decided to scout out what the old shafts looked like, unaware of the fact that there were bears living there (although that was later discovered by a different group of friends)!

If that sounds like a funny oblivious moment, I also talked to Makayla, a sophomore at CCU, who had quite the story to tell herself! When she was a bit younger, she wandered into a ravine in her backyard. That particular gap ran up into the mountains. Roaming about, she was exploring for about 3 hours before she realized that she did not know how to get back home. The police were called to find her, searching for a long time, before a helicopter ended up bringing her back home safely. That for sure does not sound like something one would be inclined to forget!

There are so many stories that have yet to be told: some funny, some ridiculous, and some just plain wild. What is the stupidest thing you’ve ever done? Reason doesn’t have to have anything to do with it…
