Cougar Spotlight: Sam Day

Major: Communication with a minor in Digital Media
Favorite Class: Theology
Hometown: Lakewood, Colorado
Favorite color: Green

CCU’s very own Sam Day shows us how she uses her rollerblades to de-stress.

The rollerblading journey began first in Illinois when she had nothing to do. She then started rollerblading for fun at the local roller rink. She always wanted to play hockey, but she was not allowed to, so she turned back to rollerblading in high school.

Her journey continued into college when she needed something to do since she did not continue her sports in college. She doesn’t like the gym but likes to listen to music and do her own thing. It’s her way of burning off steam. If she has an anxious or bad day she goes and skates.

“As we watched her rollerblade around campus, you could tell that she was comfortable and well-practiced.”

Rollerblades

This fun hobby even included some risk-kay business. Sam told the story of the time she and a few friends went to the Mile-Hi parking lot. They hitched onto the back of her friend’s pickup truck and went for a fun ride! But she does not recommend this activity because the property owners did not appreciate it (lol!).

It is no surprise that Sam Day is our first Coug Spotlight because not only is she talented with roller skating, but she has such a fun spirit. We may be totally biased, but she is an amazing classmate who is smart, talented and cares so deeply about others.

We wanted to showcase Sam very first because she is a great example of a Cougar who selflessly treats others with kindness and respect. If you see Sam around say hey and compliment her on her mad skating skills!
