Several Hundred Stupid Things… Edition 4

It seems that most people have had a bizarre experience in a relationship at least once in their lives! Please bear in mind that all of these people answered with the knowledge that this would be published. Not only that, but each of these individuals professes that these are things they think are ridiculous. In honor of Valentine’s Day: What is the stupidest thing you have done when trying to get someone else to like you? When pursuing a relationship with someone?

One CCU student answered that he once asked a girl to prom on April Fools Day in high school. While he was fully aware that it was April Fools Day, he was entirely serious in asking. He said that he definitely counts that as one of the stupidest things he has ever done. Another guy took his now-girlfriend on a date to a movie with his grandpa and little brother before they started dating! Another student said that her most awkward moment in pursuing a relationship occurred at a dance, where she and her date slow-danced to Toto’s Africa (which if you do not know is a very upbeat song)! These are a few odd things that have happened around here while trying to pursue a relationship or show someone you like them, but there are so many more out there. If you are curious, ask your friends!

On a more serious note, doing stupid stuff because you like someone is fairly commonplace nowadays, but please do not let Valentine’s Day make you feel bad if you are not in a relationship. It can be hard watching other couples doing crazy things because they are so in love, but you have so many stories of your own to tell. Now is the time for you to talk about those stories and change your focus, rather than on the portion of your story you have not discovered yet.
