Several Hundred Stupid Things… Edition 3

In yet another case of people having the most interesting stories to listen to, I had the opportunity to ask three more people the question: What is the stupidest thing you’ve ever done? (In clarification, the “stupidest thing” does not necessarily mean dumb – it can also mean weird, funny, crazy, frightful, or just plain absurd! Crazy things happen every day, and the word can mean different things to everyone. So this series is a tiny compendium of the stories of nonsensical or strange things people can think of off the top of their heads.)

The first person I spoke to, Josh, is a sophomore here at CCU. His story about one of the stupidest things he has ever done recounted him falling 20 feet out of a tree. No particular explanation was offered beyond that fact such as why he was in the tree to begin with or what he did afterward, but it seemed like quite the surprise that there were no physical injuries as a result!

In a different story to Josh where there were physical consequences, Debi was doing the mundane task of making pizza and got her hand stuck in the metal pizza roller that flattens dough. During this crazy ordeal, she broke every bone up to her wrist. It took a long time for it to heal, and has most definitely been something worth remembering.

Similarly to Debi, Lindy, as a younger child, made the decision to stick her whole hand into the VCR in her childhood home. As a result, her hand was severely damaged (it seems that her mother was freaking out more than she was). Lindy has since, of course, recovered from that injury, but it remains to be one of the most strange things to ever happen to her.

Not all stories are fun to hear about, but they certainly can be learning experiences for others. Next time on several hundred stupid things, we will be hearing about some stupid experiences pertaining to people’s love lives! What is the dumbest thing you think you’ve ever done?
