Study Spaces vol.1

Washington Park

As much as we would love our time to simply be filled by driving up to the mountains, skiing countless black diamonds or making late night trips to Dutch Bros, the reality is that much of our time as college students is spent studying.

It can be difficult, though, to find productive places to study. You may want a quiet study environment with little distraction. Or you may want an environment that is busy, has some background noise and sells a good cup of coffee.

Study Spaces, as featured in CougMedia, is a resource to help you find the best study places for you, both on and off campus. Every week there will be a featured study space. Sometimes these study spaces will be places on campus and other times they might be parks or coffee shops off campus. In each featured study space, you will be informed of the location, the environment, the vibe and much more.

This week’s study spaceis none other than Washington Park. More commonly called “Wash Park” by the locals, this study space is the perfect little off campus getaway to go study. It is located about 20 minutes from campus, East on Highway 6 and South on Highway 25. When the weather is nice, Wash Park is filled with individuals and families running, biking, hammocking, walking their dog, or just hanging out.

Wash Park is perfect for those that enjoy studying outside in a busy environment. Whether you bring a blanket and lay on the grass or bring a hammock and hang in the trees, there are plenty of different ways to study in Wash Park.

Another perk of Wash Park is its proximity to other businesses. Within 5-10 minutes of Wash Park are multiple coffee shops, restaurants and ice cream shops.

So next time you need to complete your Economics homework, grab a coffee, bring your book and head to Wash Park as your next study space!

If you have a Study Space suggestion, please send them to AVandenEinde18@students.ccu.edu to be reviewed and featured. Thank you!
