Poem of the Week – Mornings
I want a Sunday morning kind of love
One where we go to church together
And I raise my hands in worship
But accidentally hit yours already in the air
I want a Monday morning kind of love
One where we don’t want to go to work
But we kiss goodbye anyway
And wish each other the best possible day
I want a Tuesday morning kind of love
One where we drink coffee together before the kids wake
And make pancakes before running out the door
But making sure to kiss my forehead before we part
I want a Wednesday morning kind of love
One where we push each other to get up
But we sleep in a few extra minutes
And you tease me about my hair
I want a Thursday morning kind of love
One where we wake up early to read the Bible together
And we share breakfast in bed
But the kids join us once they smell the food
I want a Friday morning kind of love
One where we take the kids out for breakfast before school
But we all can’t wait for the evening
And we plan out the games for the night
I want a Saturday morning kind of love
One where you wake me with a kiss
And stand beside me as we brush our teeth
But our elbows keep hitting each other
I want your love every single morning of the week
Not just one
