Glimpse of You

I steal glimpses of you
in crowds, in bed, and in my head.
Your perfume mysteriously mists the night air,
and my lungs fill up with you.
Though not real
I thought I saw your figure within the crowd.
Within a blink, it was but my eyes betraying me;
The hurt pangs the inner part of my heart.
I lay still in bed and thought I felt you once more at my side,
your loud absence leaves me restless and I resign
once more to memories,
a sleepless night.
Passing alongside the river,
walking with a stranger.
For a sliver, I thought… maybe…
no, for that would be a danger.
I thought I caught a glimpse of You.
