Blissful Oblivion

Painting by Ron Hicks
Once more into blissful oblivion,
I fall once again into the devil’s arms.
Only to hate existence,
I am a paradox of impulse and desire.
Once more into blissful oblivion,
Away from my Savior’s eyes as I devised.
Lost in the aching of burning passion
I’ve found myself fallen from grace.
Once more into blissful oblivion,
I’ve come back to the Father’s embrace.
The addiction no longer holds me,
My God breaks these chains upon me, I am free.
